Suffolk days out
I've been so bad at updating my blog! I'm going to make it my mission from now on to try to do two a week, so here goes, kicking it off with my recent trip to Suffolk. I spend a lot of time in Suffolk. My grandparents lived there so I have been visiting the area around Woodbridge all my life. It is a stunning area and I'm enjoying discovering more parts of it now that I am older. Sadly Granny and Grandpa are no longer with us but I have many fond memories of them whenever I am wondering this gorgeous part of the country.
First up is a day trip to Walberswick. We had a delicious meal at The Bell Inn, which was packed with Saturday walkers! I felt slightly out of place in my very obvious 'London' outfit (definitely not 'rambling' attire!).
It was the day after Valentine's day...
On Sunday we visited Orford. The mist was very thick that day which added an eerie feel when wondering around Orford Castle Keep. It was too cold to walk around for too long and the visibility wasn't good enough to appreciate Orford Ness, so we'll come back in the summer to see that.
Orford has some lovely places to stop and drink and eat. We had coffee at the famous Pump Street Bakery, which is really cute with a very friendly atmosphere.
After a bit more exploring of the village, we managed to warm up on that cold February day with a wonderful Sunday Roast lunch at The Crown and Castle Hotel.
